Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together... *Author Unknown*

Touch you with my hands,,
But I will feel you in my heart forever"
I am sure Mikey is up there creating havoc at the Bridge !!

I was bought
without any thought
of the future.
I grew way too big
So I was given
to rescue.
I ran and I played
with other dogs there,
but wanted my very own home.
It came along
Mom, Dad, kids and dogs,
I was happy for a while.
The marriage fell apart
and it broke my heart
When I returned to rescue.
As time went along
they kept my faith strong
that there was a home for me.
And yes, they were right
My new home brought light
and joy into my life.
I abandoned my fears
and spent many years
enjoying my new family.
When my time came,
Despite her own pain,
my mom let me go,
surrounded by her love.
I want her to know
when her time comes
she won't be alone.
I will be waiting,
tail happily waving,
to escort her over the Bridge.

I am standing by the seashore.
A ship at my side spreads his white sails to the morning breeze
and starts for the blue ocean.
He is an object of beauty and strength,
and I stand and watch
until at last he hangs like a peck of white cloud
just where the sun and sky come down to mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side says, 'There he goes!
Gone where? Gone from my sight - that is all.
He is just as large in mast and hull and spar
as he was when he left my side
and just as able to bear his load of living freight
to the places of destination.
His diminished size is in me, not in him.
And just at the moment when someone at my side says,
'There he goes! ' ,
there are other eyes watching him coming,
and other voices ready to take up the glad shout :
'Here he comes!'
To the dog with the biggest heart I know… the KING of sloppy kisses, food on the table (especially Sophia’s muffins) and being in anyone’s PERSONAL space but his own. God speed buddy and good night.
