Say Hello to Rokuku. This handsome handful is about 2 years old. He was a stray in a local shelter who had recently been attacked by dogs judging by his wounds. The shelter had treated him, but we took him to our vet immediately. He was very wiggly at the vet, but never once exhibited any aggression despite all the probing and cleaning of his wounds. As he healed, it became quite evident that NO ONE had EVER given him any rules or discipline. He is very food motivated as you can see in his pix and his behavior has improved with work. He has shown no aggression when meeting the resident dogs (except one young male who starts issues) through chain link, in fact has been playful at times. He will chase kitties indoors if they run but not with harmful intent and will stop when told. Outdoor cats are fair game to him. He was 75 lbs when he came into rescue and is now a solid 100 lbs. He still needs a lot of work on leash walking. He really needs his own home or to be in a foster home where he can be an integral part of the household. Because of his rambunctiousness, we are not placing him with children younger than mid-teens. His new owners/foster will have to have pretty good knowledge of the breed and obedience training as well as having an active lifestyle to deal with this boy's energy. Will he fit into your life?
