Mikey is a neutered male, approximate age 3 years old. He is a white/cream colored young male Akita. He was rescued from a local shelter after he was taken from his owners on a humane seizure. Mikey was chained up in a backyard with little food or water. When we took him from the shelter, he was only 80 pounds, probably at least ten or more pounds underweight.

Mikey is a perky puppy three year old. He loves his walks and is interested in everything he sees, birds, cats, dogs, fluttering leaves. He really likes people and any attention he is given. He loves to lean against you and tilt his head back and look at you upside down. He will slide down your leg and roll over on his back for a tummy rub. He is learning to walk on a lead but we still have a lot of work to do on that. He is very strong, and when he is focused on something he does not pay any attention to you. He would be a great dog for a former akita owner who enjoys training. Mikey does not seem to be dog aggressive, but has no "dog manners". He and my female Callie will play bow to each other through the dog runs. He will sit, down, crate, and go potty on command. We are learning heel. He is are very nice boy and he is so good looking that people stop in the street to ask about him and pet him.
