This is Asa, one of a litter of 9 puppies born in the Culpeper County Virginia shelter. Asa's mom, Cora, was picked-up as a stray and gave birth in the shelter. Cora appears to be a purebred Akita. Dad is unknown.
Asa is a very bright and has a commanding personality. He is an old soul with penetrating eyes. He listens and takes corrections well, but is much happier when he is praised. He is people oriented and loves affection, but is happy to just hang out when you are busy with other things. He and all his sibs have some of the most wonderful temperaments we have seen.
